REVIVAL™ - The TRIBUTE to ABBA

A talented Doncaster-based Abba tribute act have proved they are bjorn to perform after scooping a prestigious industry award.

Tribute Band Abba Revival were screaming gimme, gimme, gimme when they got their hands on the award for the ‘official UK number one Abba tribute’ act in the The Agents’ Association National UK Tribute Awards 2013.

The Doncaster-based group were saying thank you for the music after beating off stiff competition from 33 other UK-based Abba acts to received the accolade.

John Reilly who performs as Benny in the band said: “We are absolutely thrilled and very proud to receive this award, particularly in view of the fact that Revival are in such a high profile category with such high quality competition.

“Congratulations to everyone in the Revival Team. We would like to thank the ‘Agents Association of Great Britain’ and to all of you for your continued support on our amazing journey.”

The event described as at the industry equivalent of the BRITS.

This is the first time in the history of British Tribute Acts that an award scheme has been established and aimed specifically at the Tribute industry.

It is hoped the event will become an annual thing.

Each act was been judged on criteria such as reality, production and marketing

The band have been performing at weddings, parties, both in the UK and abroad for the past six years.

Mamma mia! These Abba tribute band members are proving they were really Bjorn to be together by tying the knot.
It seems life is imitating art for John Reilly and Lisa Houlder who play Abba couple in the popular tribute act Abba Revival.
The pair who were initially friends when they started the band 6 years ago, decided to take a chance on love and take their relationship to the next level just like Benny and Frida did.

The Doncaster Couple that have performed all over the UK and aboard imitating the Swedish super group are getting married on August the 27th but are shunning the dancing queen theme for the wedding.

Lisa, 29, said “I suppose it is quite unusual that we are playing Frida and Benny and are getting married but all our friends and family were not surprised, I think they knew we’d end up together even before we did”.
“our wedding will probably be the only Abba free Saturday night we’ve ever had as we’re usually doing gigs.”
“We decided to have a break from it for our wedding but we will be having a Michael Jackson and an Elvis tribute act.”

And John,37, who popped the question on a ski lift last Valentine’s Day while the group were touring in Switzerland is certainly saying thank you for the music, as he credits Abba tracks with helping bring them together.
He said: “We are both massive fans of the music it’s just so cleverly written and makes you feel elated”
“When we are performing on stage the atmosphere is really cheerful and vibrant so that definitely rubs off on us”
But are they worried they may be sending out an SOS like Frida and Benny who divorced?”
John Joked: “We’re not worried but if Lisa suddenly starts writing lots of depressing ballads, then I might start to worry.”
